so, wanted to buy a mech keyboard for a while and today I spotted a deal on decent one with MX red. they also do blue. and that's it. red or blue.

now I read up on the MX switches and was somehow decided on browns, as the usage is mixed. blue seemed bit noisy even with O-rings.

Go for the reds anyway?

Tbh, what you read about boards won't always dictate what you like.
After reading, it looked like I would love the blues. Absolutely hated them. Stuck with reds ever since I tried all the switches.
Best bet is to go and try them both (unless its an online retailer).

If you wanted browns in the first place, I'd say go for reds.

how do you find typing on Reds? Why did you not like the blue ones? are you using O-rings?

thanks

First of all, I want to clarify that typing is just pressing keys. I'm not sure why people say because of the lighter actuation on reds, you may make more mistakes. You won't, because it's all about where your fingers press down, not how light the keys are.

Typing on reds is fine, even if you bottom out, or learn the point at which it actuates, you'll type the same with any other switch.

I hated the blues because of the heavier actuation point. Though it may not seem much, it may be because I was accustomed to my reds. To get the blues to "click", required more effort than even my membrane keyboard did. It was put straight back into the box and sent back.

No i don't use o-rings. Dont see the point. You eventually learn the actuation point and won't bottom out. Or, if you like the sound of bottoming out, then go ahead and bottom out.
