Chemical attack in London...

Have we got to the inevitable stage of the thread yet where a bunch of weird middle aged men who don’t go out much and live in some bumblesquat town in the middle of nowhere start cryarsing about how dangerous London is even though statistically it’s really quite safe.

If not will check back in a few hours, just off to Waitrose in my stab proof vest.
If you survive...

Nah. They wont even come out with that lie. They'll justify it and continue to ostracise those that stand against the actions of this guy and the other vile criminals we're importing.
I think the apologists will struggle with this one tbh, a chemical attack on a three year old child...

It’s a pretty interesting question raised in this thread: should a criminal conviction affect asylum status? Hmm. Not sure what I think about that! It depends I suppose.

For an application as a working migrant / VISA, that seems a reasonable, yes. For somebody requesting sanctuary (asylum)… it’s probably more important what they are requesting asylum from.

Obviously, it’s a real lose for a country to host anyone that goes on to harm others. But denying asylum just because of a prior conviction without considering the facts would be an improper substitute for proper safeguarding in other ways.
Someone commiting a crime once they get here, especially something like sexual assault should have their asylum claim chucked straight in the bin.

I wonder where he's hiding, can't be amongst people with that face. I doubt the police will be taking any chances with him either, so if he hasn't topped himself somewhere there must be a pretty good chance if he even looks like he might resist arrest he'll be shot.

However, I’m having to imagine the reactions if the culprit wasn’t an asylum seeker/immigrant because they wouldn’t exist from some and it wouldn’t help their “cause”.
But, he is, and furthermore an immigrant who shouldn't have been allowed to stay in the country after his sex crime convictions, so I think the outrage is somewhat justified in this case.
This whole episode is a disgrace, and should certainly cause some very serious questions to be asked.
