I got the opportunity to play around with some studio lights today, allbeit crappy ones, but it made me think about tone and shadows.

They were direct lights, but not pointed directly at her. Unfortunately they dont have any softboxes, however they do have an opaque white umbrella that I will have a go with.

Nope, used the in camera meter, exposing for the middle highlights in order to throw out the blacks and get rid of the details in the background.

I agree about the lighting, I shall bring you a v2.0 as soon as I have access to a softbox
