Anyway I've had a snotty phone call from SCS sales chap today trying to stop me cancelling. He also got the hump when I mentioned that I wish to purchase a £316 foot stool with the deposit he is holding. He virtually hung up at that point. That wouldn't happen with John Lewis. So SCS - Go bust and good ridence. 8m loss this year so far.
1) Company culture, John Lewis employ staff that appear to care.
2) SCS shares have dropped off a cliff this year and I can't see them surviving the credit crunch as most of their business is interest free.
3) I think the chap was cheesed off that I've got a brain to say hey I'll buy something for the deposit rather than ££££ worth of Sofa that I don't want from SCS. I got a john lewis sample delivered of the sofa we want and I took a picture of it to another SCS store. Told them that I had this couch and need a foot stool etc etc. and they pointed me to a near perfect match. Therefore back to Hedge End and I'll have that foot stool please.....
I'm buying a TV later in the year and that'll be coming from JL.
