@rumple9 I've sent you a game request if you're up for another game.
You ready for a rematch?Good game mate.
I think I got lucky with how your rooks ended up trapped in the corner. I was desperately trying to keep the position closed for most of it.
I'm sure you'll get me next time.

Good game mate.@meths you play a hard game . I often overlooked moves and thought you'd do something different. I was pretty happy with my standard opening though. Keep sending game invites when one finishes.
Everyone else, add me on Chess.com, username Spacedeck and send me a game invite! I get on pretty much multiple times everyday.
Going to brush up on some openings tomorrow I think.
Good game mate.
It was pretty even until you took my knight with your rook as your bishop and Queen were being pests. It meant you lost a bit of material but it put your Queen under pressure when I recaptured which was hard to recover from.
Don't take this the wrong way but have you been playing long? I'm happy to chat through the moves as we play and tell you what I'm thinking if you want?
I'm no expert by any means but if you're just starting then it might help a bit just to get a feel for it.
Also, if you're not already, use the analysis tool and try out a few scenarios before making your move. That helps a lot and it's a resource that's there to be used in those longer games.
I've played on and off since 2021. Mostly doing puzzles as going online makes me nervous. I used to watch a lot of Levy, and I have his Beginner Chess and Middlegame Masterclass courses.
I can't remember openings for the life in me, much prefer to play middlegame. I do get to a point in most games where I run out of ideas for moves, or make a bad move because it looks like I can't improve my position anymore. This gets extremely hard against well defended players.
I'm more than happy to learn more and try to get better with help. This game is hard enough as it is!
I haven't / don't use tools as for some reason it feels like a bit of a cheat. I try to calculate in my head / draw lines on the board all the different ways I can see a game going. I can't see the future of games, most I can do is try calculate 2/3 moves ahead.
I agree, the analysis tool is handy when you're feeling a bit stuck. Well worth using and can help you learn because you can run through scenarios. You're doing more than me. I'm just trying to brute force it and learning by repeating the same mistakes over and over in the 10 minute games.
The analysis tool doesn't tell you what to do btw. It just lets you try out a few moves on the board rather than keeping them in your head. You still need to pick the one that feels right.
Great. Not sure I need to "go easy on you" as I'm losing most of my games at the moment! No request came through so I've sent you one. Go easy on me Master
Im sure it does help you learn but I still consider this a bit cheating. Hope you're not using these techniques to beat me!I agree, the analysis tool is handy when you're feeling a bit stuck. Well worth using and can help you learn because you can run through scenarios.
Yes this is fine as its after the game has finished that you review your moves/mistakes.The game analysis is also quite good as it shows you where you went wrong and let's you try out alternatives. It also shows you how you did with the opening.
Oh! I've certainly used when playing you Dan. I never considered it cheating as its available to everyone. But I can see your point. I figure if you want a game without the analyse tool then you need to play blitz games when there isn't time to do it.Im sure it does help you learn but I still consider this a bit cheating. Talking of which Im on the back foot again now despite a strong start. I need to work on my end game.

One thing I'm not sure about is what is the chess etiquette about repeating the same move.
I vaguely remember someone once telling me that if a king moves between the same 2 squares three times the player forfeits the game. Doesn't seem to happen on chess.com so I guess it's not a real rule.
Yeah, sure thing. You ready for a rematch?
Too late, I've accepted your challenge!Yeah, sure thing.
Although I'm tempted to just say no and go out on top.

There is also an option to flip the board round. I don't really use it but that is something that could help that you don't get in real live games.
