Chester or Twycross zoo?

Going to a zoo soon... Chester is 2 hours away and Twycross is 52minutes

Is it worth going the extra distance for chester and if so... why?

or perhaps twycross is better? never been to a zoo :D
 
Chester Zoo is awesome. :D


They have a massive Orangutan encosure now plus they have lots of Penguins. :)

I went on 17th Nov last year.. the weather wasn't too good but we all had a great time. :D
 
Twycross = Monkeys

the best are a bald monkey and several which thrust erect penises through railings.

Very funny.
 
anybody been to both? Only got people posting who have been to one :D I'm thinking twycross myself as its closer but I saw Chester given a mention in the top zoos around the world :s

Although someone else who had been to chester said the atmosphere was depressing soooo I'm not quite sure :S
 
Chester!! its an awesome zoo!! we went in the middle of winter and still saw everything even tho the weather wasnt brill! Ive been 3 times in the past 2 years!!
 
i just checked on google maps, and my times are 1min more than the op's. I was gonna post "do you live in my street?" but your profile says derbyshire O.o
 
chester zoo is epic and a really big place takes pretty much a whole day to look around everything.

the penguin enclosure was really poor though compared to the one at edinburgh zoo but everything else was great
 
I would say Twycross, but I would be saddened to go there since old Joe the gorilla died. For those who don't know, he used to love people and sit with you at the window. Go to Chester, there is much more there and you can make more of a day of it.
 
yeah from Derbyshire aaaand to R34pz, you said that you would go to Twycross because of a Gorilla that you liked, but since hes not there then Chester is better because it has more?

sooo Chester has more even with joe the gorilla?

Would be going with other people but its for my birthday and i've never been to a zoo before soo :D I'm ok to drive the extra hour if its worth another 2 hours of my day :D

Never been to a zoo? lucky git wish I could experience one for the first time again!
 
:D can't wait lol... I love capuchin monkeys but comparing the list of animals it seems that Chester has WAY more...

Rhinos, Tigers, Zebras, Cheetahs, Jaguars, Crocodiles (twycross only have dwarf crocs)

Edit: Chester have capuchins as well :P

Yup I have to say it is great, I have had my christmas party there :)
