Chicken Chow Mein

Other than being used in Chinese cooking (and maybe other similar asian cuisines?), which other types of cooking would anyone use MSG for?

Haha, my dad makes it without any of those and still taste awesome :)

A persons perception of taste differs, i find it bland without a little oyster, soy and MSG in.

Also the type of noodles i have found make a massive difference to the overall taste.

Here are some hints:

1 - Make sure you have a wok
2 - Keep it moving
3 - Make sure the wok is HOT, smoking hot
4 - cook the chicken first, noodles then in next then bean sprouts
5 - add soy sauce, salt and grounded pepper
6 - finish off with sesame oil
7 - Make sure the wok is HOT!

While we're on the subject, what other ingredients do you lot use in a chow mein aside from the most obvious things?

Meat, Veg and noodles are most popular.

You can always add a handful of nuts which add an interesting texture.

Spring onions towards the end add more fragrance flavour.
