Chicken sell by dates...

Yes i am aware there was a spate of threads about eating food out of its sell by date but i can't find them. :o

So quick question and also for help in the future, can chicken be eaten 2-3 days out of its sell by date?
 
i wouldn't eat chicken out of its sell by date unless it has been frozen in a freezer and even then i would microwave it to hell :)
 
i recently had some tiny chicken thigh's in a package that my mum brought home reduced because of the sell by date.

the rest of the packets are in freezer and i microwaved a packet to hell and ate it and i have no ill effects :)

chicken is one of the riskiest foods to gamble like that with though.

Okay well the chicken went off on the 7th, so 'technically' an hour ago...but even then, it would be late in the day, ON the sell by date.
 
as long as its frozen before the use by date it should be ok just don't quote me on that :P.

worms are from moo moo's on ill treated meat i eat raw moo moo some times :)
 
Best way to tell with chicken is to smell it, it will smell quite obviously off. Turns really quickly from ok to bad, no grey ground really. Can get reallllly slimy too lol.
