its a power supply, looks like your run of the mill cheapo if you ask me...

I did Google it but most of the pages were foreign. I'm not as tech savvy as you lot, so just wanted to know if it was a suitable upgrade for my ageing system coz my current P.O.S PSU isn't man enough.

Sorry to hear, but you are running the risk of it taking out everything else if it goes pop.
I would not want to chance it myself.

Luckily the cheapest branded PSU on here is £30, and it is made by OCZ so not a bad company, however I don't know the PSU exactly so it may be made with substandard parts.
Here it is anyway, might be worth looking around other places for a second hand one. Make sure you get a decent brand though otherwise it will just mean you need to get another one!

I`d try ebay and go used as long as its good brand and Bronze certified it should do it.
