I was looking at a system last night built in an old school Chieftec case. I noticed a disconnected wire coming from the front panel.

There were the following connectors:

1 - ground (black)
1 - ground (brown)

2 - ground (black)

1 - +d (green)
1 - -d (brown)
1 - +5v (red)

2 - +d (grey)
2 - -d (yellow)
2 - +5v (orange)

Any ideas please?

Try and trace the wires back to the port.

Just had a look on mine, it has front USB, firewire and audio though they each have a one piece connecting block.

Looks like USB. You have +5v, ground, and +data - data. Is it not for non-standard usb ports instead of having a 5x5 block, it comes with seperate ones.
