Child labour

Child Labour is cheap, kind to the environment and increases profit margins!

Hey there, Derek. My name is little Kleatus. I'm just a regular kid who wants you to know the real truth about child labor laws. Okay?

They're silly and outdated. In the good old days kids as young as five could work as they pleased from textile factories to iron smelts. Yippee! Hooray! But today, the age-old right of children to work is under attack. From the philippines to Bangladesh, in China and India and South America too. Boo-Hoo. But you can help these children, Derek... by killing the prime minister of Malaysia. He is bad.

Time they got a new job tbh

They have to feed their starving family. They have no real qualifications because they can't offord to go to school. There are status discriminations in India. If you come from a poor background it is hard to get a high paid job. It's easy money for the children, only they don't know it's not a lot.

So do they still need to get that new job then?

I think it was a joke.

I think you missed the joke...

It's horrible when you put yourself in their shoes. I can't imagine doing 70 hour weeks. 10 hours/day is double the amount of lesson time most of us do at school.

I do. Regularly.

When I was 18 I was working over 100 hours a week. :/

It seems bad but our own country used children for labour and look where we are now.

I say substitute all the illegitimate council estate children for beagles in laboratories.

The Daily Mail would love it! Getting rid of scum and pandering to the pretentious middle class animal rights bitches at the same time.

What did you do when you were 18?

If you're working 70 hour weeks now, I assume you earn a bit more than £1/week. :p

He chose to work 100 hour weeks. If he didn't, his parents would probably have helped him out, and if they didn't, he could stroll along and ask for income support, benefits.

In the countries where these kids work 70 hours/week, their governments don't hand out money if you have no job.

meh, child Labour, try to get the littl blighters to do anything constuctive, should get those damn chavs who are having all the kids working tbh.

also, don't forget, I wouldn't mind earning £1 a week......if beer was a penny a pint

You remember how we had the Industrial Revolution? We had child slaves down the mines, polluted as much as we liked, didn't give a toss about the environment, but it got us to where we are today.

India and China are having their versions of our Industrial Revolution now but for some reason 'the west' are poking their noses in and saying they're not allowed to do it.

Worked in Safeway - did everything apart from clean and work the tills.

I'd work 7am-4pm, go home for a bite to eat and a nap, back in to work at 10pm, work through until 7am, home, work midday-10pm, home, sleep, work 7am-4pm...

So about 100-102 hours a week. Double pay between 10pm and 10am, double pay sunday 10am-10pm and triple pay for before 10am and after 10pm on sunday.

If you're working 70 hour weeks now, I assume you earn a bit more than £1/week. :p

Yup - £2.70.
