My 2.5 year old son likes to mess on nickjr.co.uk. However, as it happens with boys, he breaks things, pushes buttons, messes with anything that has a light on it. So, i usually let him run nickjr with autohiding taskbar and fullscreen browser.

Question: how do i make it always on top and prevent him getting to task/start bar ? Essentially locking him to prowser and specified website ?

Other suggestions on childproofing my pc would be welcome as well... (no i cant buy him laptop. :D thats gonna get physically destroyed the same day...)

I would look at local group policies to lock the computer down, then look at something like opendns for web filtering and to make it unbreakable look into using deepfreeze/steady state so that a reboot would restore everything. You could take a system image before configuring everything to be on the safe side.

Just re-read the thread and some of what I have suggested is a bit ott but it gives you an idea

Download VirtualBox (freebie from Oracle, others are also available), install Windows in a virtual machine. Snapshot it when you are happy. If he breaks it, rollback to snapshot.

I did this for a while til my son grew up a bit :)

Also buy a really cheap keyboard from one of the Tesco Extra stores (or somewhere equally cheap), so when he spills drink on it, drives his tonka car over it etc.. you dont pull your hair out
