Children not allowed squash in school !

I highly doubt primary school children will be sneaking frigging alcohol into school mixed with squash.

Did I say they were primary school kids? This applies to the large high school in the city.

Nothing against the other reasons though? So...valid reasons perhaps? Especially considering that primary school kids aint renowned for their coordination!

After sitting down with Brandon about a gradual switch over to just plain water at school , He doesn't mind this now as he said he wont take a drink as it appears the tuck shop are selling juice cartons with a sale price of 60p that cost the school 15p and cupdrinks for 35p that cost the school 6p .

So he and the other kids can now get a flavour intake by paying for it

I'd disagree, a chicken and bacon sub with salad wouldnt be any different to doing it at home after buying the ingredients from a supermarket.

It is not on the same level as mcdonalds at all.

6 inch Chicken and Bacon Ranch Melt, crisp and medium drink - 842 calories

Cheeseburger, medium fries and medium drink - 795 calories

So it is easily on the same level as mcdonalds.....

Not meaning to have a go but it annoys me when people talk about subway as some healthy option. Its my choice of fast food but is far from healthy

Edit: I really have to stop posting on my brothers account ffs!

Is your child at another school now or are all kids now allowed juice?
Did they change the school policy just because of what you said?
Awesome.

No, in the same school. My wife and I get treated a little differently now, then no longer "enforce" these things, merely advise.

They did change the policy afterwards and now just send the occasional advice letters. The school diner menu still sucks though.

Now compare weight of sub and weight of a cheese burger

Pretty much irrelevant isn't it? Its not like you stop eating your subway when you get to the same weight as the McDonalds. In short, your thoughts on the healthiness of Subway are misplaced.

Smallest cheese burger Mcdonalds do is 295 calories
6-inch chicken Sub , 9-Grain wheat bread, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers and onions is 233 calories

So lets go for the sub vs there biggest burger

Big tasty with bacon is 895 calories vs 233

See you later guys

Are we now playing lets pretend calories are all that matter? And why are you comparing the chicken and bacon? Wouldn't the beef be closer? And 50 calories less.

And why a cheeseburger? No one orders a cheeseburger! BigMac, medium fries, medium drink ... 990 calories.

Just let him drink the water. Don't know anyone who don't like the taste.

I don't like it but I will drink it if I have to

My wifes school has the same policy and also only advise and send letters out

Wow seriously

Cos 12 inches of junk carb bread is doing them the world of good  your children must be fatties if that's your mentality

I to am really

of course weight has an impact on calories , Your kids must be the thickest around you think it doesn't !!

If you had read the thread you would have seen he Brandon is very active being on the cricket team and the amount of walking we do .

I wouldn't call it chicken either, it's mechanically reformed rubbish, the same at goes into nuggets, subway is just another awful fast food chain pretending to be healthy, just admit you have been taken in by their marketing and move on

Sorry this was about calories and how you said weight doesn't have an impact on calories and that a cheeseburger was less calories than a sub

Personally I eat a 12 inch steak and cheese with everything in it and loads of sauce with a large coke and a bag of doritos followed by 3 oat and rasin cookies . Oh with a side of meatballs with my sub.

I haven't been "taken in" by anything , Seems you have thinking McDonalds is better than a subway .

This day and age people will have you believe nothing is good for you . I am normally a healthy person thinking I must take care of my body but since diagnosis in September for something that was not created by anything wrong I have done via diet or lifestyle I am kind of more relaxed about what I eat and drink now .

McDonalds and Subway are more or less on par with each other in the health stakes.

It's also not all about comparing calories. It's like saying a chocolate bar is better than you than a full healthy meal of meat and veg because it contains less calories. Weight also doesn't come into what's healthy or not.

when compairing 2 specific things it does ;)

I know all about carbs and fat etc so I know what your saying ,But compairing a frozen defrosted fillings in a fresh baked 9 grain roll to a fatty burger and deep fried chips I know which is healthier .

All this could have been avoided if I didn't bother asking buddy lol

Someone did say while I am recovering I can pump my post count , So wait until tomorrow as I am going to go for more than 400+ in less than 24 hours :D
