Just watched it

and wow

totally blew me away didnt think it would be THAT good

Powerfull film

Talking of powerfull and moving films...

The pursuit of happiness i watched recently and that IS moving

Watch them, top notch.

i thought the story itself was crap, the actual camera work and effects and everything is very nice but the story itself done nothing for me

one of the films of last year for me. truely stunning. theres some documentarys on youtube about how they did some of the camera work. the car bit is immense.

people should also check out history of violence. watched this the other day, fantastic.

I really enjoyed the film except for the ending :(.
Same. Brilliant film, but I hate it when they just do that in loads of films! It's like "NOOOO! What did you do that for? He could easily have..." etc etc. I was like that at the end of The Constant Gardener too. :(
All the effects and sound and everything came together really well in the Cinema. It wasn't quite as good on DVD, but still very good. I'm glad I saw it when I had the chance.

Actually I thought this film was boring, I know I was supposed to like it and it was a good script, plot, thought provoking etc but I just didn't get on with it.

I was pretty bored through it all. Technically a good film but not for me.

I thought this was brilliant. The story is a bit strange, but the camera work, acting and cinematography more than makes up for it. It is so immersive, it makes you feel like you are really there. It reminds me of the impact Saving Private Ryan had when it first came out in terms of realism. Stunning 10/10.

Overrated, it was promising for the first 30 mins, then it just went pop and down the toilet into a very long winded second half and a unsatisfying ending.

Can anyone remember what the guy called the genre of music he listened to? It was some made up genre.

Awesome film.

And from a technical view it is the best thing I've seen for a long, long time. The war scene was just incredible. There was one camera shot following him about which lasted several minutes, during which people were getting shot, walls were exploding etc. You have to appreciate how difficult it is to pull that off as a film maker.

Personally really hated the movie.
One of those where I thought... "Might as well finish watching it, already wasted an hour of my life sitting here"
Really was expecting much better.

Agreed, the scene from when the geordie boy bows out, right through to going up into the hospital, and coming back down past the soldiers is all one shot. A lass I watched this with hadn't noticed until I said & immediately watched it again, going 'wow' all the way through it ;)

(Now this was a while ago, so dont slate me if I'm half a scene out or something, it's a good 5 mins anyway). My only problem with the film as a whole is Clive Owen, but I think that's personal distaste more than anything else, hehe.

Think I might watch it again soon.

/Edit: Forgot to mention what a legend Michael Caine is in this too

I remember that, when they went into the building near the end. That was incredible. I think that they must have done something clever there, like somehow stitch various clips together, but make it look as if they didn't, as that would have been impossible to film as one straight scene. It would have just taken one small mistake by one of the extras and they would have had to of rebuilt the building as it was in pieces!!!!
