I think it would be a great idea to have a list of children's games on here, so to start things off, there's a free demo on Steam right now that looks promising:

The problems with games like that is the puzzle element stumps the kids and they then get bored.

It would depend on the child in question and as such I would think that games like this one should still be included.

Update: the first hour or so is kid-friendly. It does get rather hard after that though! Be warned.
