Air - Sexy Boy
Chemical brothers - star guitar
Orbital - Halcyon on and on

I know they arn't all considered chill out by everyone but its what I chill out to.

Get some older Porcupine Tree, my favourite relaxing tracks by them are Mellotron Scratch (off Deadwing), Russia on Ice (off Lightbulb Sun) Buying New Soul (off 'Recordings) and Heartattack In a Layby (off In Absentia - although that's a depressing song).

EDIT:

OH!

Also: Stars Die from The Sky Moves Sideways (you can listen to that on their myspace page here

I'm listening to Mellotron Scratch right now. I was about to come in here to reccomend it too :(

But check out the Voyage 34: The Complete Trip by Porcupine Tree, also.
It's just 4 tracks, each around 15 minutes, very relaxing.

Anything by Zero 7 (3 albums to choose from) and you won't go far wrong.

If you're looking for some ambient stuff go for: The Orb, The KLF - Chill Out or anything by Global Communication.

Couple of non-chilled, chilled songs (requested) and some chilled songs (not requested ;))

Nu Yorican Soul - Black Gold of the Sun
Nick Cave - Into My Arms
Kings of Convenience - Winning a Battle, Losing a War
Saint Etienne - Sun In My Morning
Arab Strap - Cherubs
Gotan Project - Last Tango in Paris
Lamb - Gorecki

Thats some of my chilled list at the mo. Good starting point.

Groove Armada: Hands of Time

I can do albums & Bands:

Kruder & Dorfmeister: The K&D sessions
DJ Kicks
Aim: Cold Water Music
Tosca
Enigma
Thievery Corporation: The mirror Conspiracy is probably my favourite.
Royksopp
Lemon Jelly
Air
Zero 7
Sigur Ros
Northern Exposure Vol. 1
Winter Chill :VA
Morcheeba: Big Calm
Godspeed You Black Emperor :F# A# Oo ( it's a bit far out but also chilling)
Quantic
Peace Orchestra: Peace Orchestra
Global Communication: 76.14
Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works Vol.1 1985-1992

I also find DJ Shadow: Entroducing quite chilling in the AM, especially Midnight in a perfect world.

Very different from all of that but extremely chilling is Nick Drake: Five Leaves Left, I haven't made it through the album without falling asleep.

Another chilling album is Pink Floyd: wish you were here. Perfet for Sunday mornings while lying in bed.

Haven't heard yet but recommended:

Bonobo
St Germain

Hope that helps.

Yeah there's still a lot of albums I need to buy, absolutely loving porcupine tree at the moment and really enjoy their long spaced out tracks, so voyage 34 will be on my list :D
