Chip for SFF

Guys currently have a Q6600 (G0) in my SG03 I like to have it Quiet as like a HTPC so the chip probably isnt getting the best cooling AIr throughput.

Just seen a review of the Q9300 and the difference in wattage it uses over the Q6600.

was thinking of picking up either a 9300 or 9450 can anyone confirm these chips run far cooler then the q6600.

You really really dont need that much juice in a HTPC bud.

I've an E2180 in mine and it plays absolutely everything. Quads are simply overkill for such a use.

If temps are the issue then I'd also be considering the e7200, It will run cooler than the e2180.

Their are several reasons why I do, I make use of all 4 cores on a pretty regular basis, using apps that take advantage, I also game abit.

Just want to know if the Q9's kill the Q6 for temps

I wouldn't swap a Q6600 for a Q9300.

Wait til next month for the Q9400 to come out. And even then I'd be spending my time trying to find a low VID Q6600 instead.

What are the temps of the Q6600? I'd stick with it myself, so long asit's overclocked any other quads aren't much of an upgrade and won't be much cooler.
