Does overclocking effect the temp of your motherboard Northbridge (Im Guessing) chip ?

Ive got an AMD 4000 on a MSI K8 Neo2 Platinum motherboard. Eveything is at stock settings. The mobo chip idles at around 44 45C but when I run Prime or play games it goes up to 53 54. As Speedfans default warning temp is 50 Im just wondering if this is too hot.

Before this I had a 3500 @ 2.5 which would reach around 56 57. Ive just replaced the original fan ( I had to start it my finger) with an Akasa model but the temps are much the same. I dont think theres enough room for a Zalman heat sink, as the chip sits too close to my graphics card. If these temps are too hot are there any other coolers I can try? The choice seems pretty limited.
