chkdsk alternative (Vista)?

Got a small problem at the moment, o&o Defrags chkdsk is reporting a few errors on my system drive. I ran chkdsk at reboot but its not cleared these errors.

Any other software I can try?

You could try SpinRite, it's a pay for app and only runs from a boot CD/USB flash drive or a floppy disk, do some research on SpinRite and you will find that it is second to none, also, it will work no matter what file system you use.

You could try the windows variant (scandisk).

Open My Computer
Right-click on the problematic drive (c: ?)
Properties
Tools Tab
Click on Check Now

Other than that I only know of paid for solutions which work well (Norton Disk Doctor springs to mind) but the above might work.

Yeah i've already used scandisk, thats the app which is having the problem. I'll take a look at the other 2. thanks
