Hi all,

I've got a Samsung M3 portable 1TB USB3 drive, but for some reason, on every boot, Windows wants to do a chkdsk.

There are never any errors detected so I was wondering if there's something I'm missing?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Windows7 ultimate. Sorry should have said. :)

I thought it must not have been unmountiing on shutdown as I set steam up to save uncompressed screen shots to it but I've changed that.

Have you had a look in the bios to see if you can disable it for boot up? It should still then find it in windows.

Also when in windows try running an error check on it.

Good idea. I'll give that a go. Thanks!

I did run a manual chkdsk in windows and it was fine. Weird.

So it's not happening anymore, however, on the odd occasion, Explorer is locking up when I copy large files to the drive. I never got this before with either of my USB2 drives which is really weird.

I'm installing Windows 10 (from scratch) at the weekend so I'll see if the problems go away.

Thanks! :)
