I have a pc that's been running chkdsk from boot for approx 30 hours and is still stuck at 10%.

It is a 1tb hard disk and I'm aware stopping chkdsk can lose data so I'm just really asking for confirmation really if waiting is the only thing I can do?

Wheel of life is still spinning which tells me something's going on, just not sure what

I have had to abort them in the past. Sometimes waiting isnt practical. To put it into context just yesterday we had a local power cut, first thing I thought about was the computer and potential corruption.. but it happens.

Crazy, but as I read your reply just now, the pc is back up and started, but i appreciate you taking the time to respond here. thanks

Crikey. Did you start it manually with the /R flag for it to take that long?

Roll on ReFS which should put all that stuff to bed.
