Hello guys! I'm in the market for a new laptop to replace my aging Clevo p170EM with a i7-3740qm and GTX 680m in it. Although I have a desktop, I love the idea of portable gaming and this laptop has served me very well indeed!
the 2 laptops I'm looking at are listed below, with the first we have this
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-....3-fhd-i7-6700hq-gaming-laptop-lt-24g-ms.html
17.3” FUll HD 120Hz
i7 6700HK
GTX 1060
256Gb SSD + 2TB
16Gb DDR IV
Win 10
120hz screen
or I have the option to buy a Clevo octane 3 17.3inch with the following specs.
17.3" IPS 60hz Gsync, I've played on a 120hz before and it was a good experience didn't wow me
i7-6700k desktop CPU
GTX 1060
16gb DDR4 ram
windows 10
256GB ssd + 2Tb HDD
this last one costs only £1655 compared to the £1800 the MSI costs, and is also a bigger laptop so will be better at getting rid of the heat. I would probably give them a call to see if I can get a 120hz screen for extra, and with the desktop cpu wil definitely help push those frames up! thoughts guys? :)

Assuming the MSI has G Sync too? 120hz is a really nice bump up over 60hz but given the higher price and less CPU the Clevo would be my choice. Cooling is a big issue though which is why I chose a big Asus ROG compared to an MSI a couple years ago, it was much quieter and more efficient. If the Clevo is better from this perspective then that's a big plus.

Thank you for the response :) at the current prices the clevo is around £140 cheaper, with that I'd probably give the site a call up (don't know if I can name, is it classed as a competitor? so with that being said the vortex 3 laptop is quite a bit bigger and I've put down artic thermal paste so it'll be even better then the msi the only thing against it is the screen. so like I said with the £140 saved I'll phone up see if I can swap the screen, to a 120hz one which should definitely cover the cost :)
