Hi there

I am going to be ordering my new system next week but I am still unsure on the RAM to go for...

My current choice of RAM is the G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200 dual channel kit but I have been recently told it is a tad unreliable.

I have been told that OCZ or Mushkin is the RAM to go for but I am not sure I can stretch my budget. The G.Skill is about 130quid before VAT... I dont think I can go more than 140MAX before VAT

The spec I am ordering next week:

AMD64 X2 4400+
DFI Lanparty Ultra D
Seasonic S12 600W
Freezer 64 Pro
ATi X1900XT

I plan to do a bit of overclocking some time in the future so good clockable RAM would be nice but not essential. If no one sees a problem with the G.Skill i may well just stick with that.

Have a look Here

Pretty daunting buying ram for DFI's, they can be a little picky - scrool way down, and you'll find a list of recommended ram - I went for the Corsair Value stuff, as it was well regarded and incredibly cheap :D

I've got a very similar spec to yours mate,

Im RMA'ing my Ballistix and going to buy either;

OCZ EL DDR PC-4000 Gold GX XTC 2GB

Or

Mushkin XP4000 2x1GB Black Series

Thats the only 2 im considering :D

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2 £149.95 + VAT

This stuff has 2-3-2-5 timings and is close to your price range :p

If you own a DFI - DFI-Street is a must - they've got DFI techs roaming the boards, so what you get is the good stuff! (For instance, I learned about plugging in all the power connections to the mobo - never knew about all 4 before having a read!)

Looks like its the OCZ... I cant go against OcUK! NOOOOOOOOOO!

Hmm... I hope theyre not TOO cool... I may be tempted to rip one of the dimms out on a hot day :D
