Getting my new system, i7 rig, want to play games and want to run windows vista. At the moment I have 3 Gb of 1600 Mhz triple channel ram, a 920, and a GTX280. I have around 250 pounds to spend, would you recommend another 3Gb of ram, or one of the GTX 280's that has just come in, giving me SLI. I'm definately going SLI at some point, just wondering if you reckon I should go for the RAM or get the SLI now whilst I can still find 280's

1920x1200, got an Acer G24, would I need more RAM to play at that res. or more GPU power :( wish I didn't have to compromise ^^

Hmmm this could be debateable, i would go with the graphics card while there still arund, and later on when you have the cash get the extra 3gigs of ram, its bound to come down in price sometime...

though, really can depend on what games you play :p

mm agreed, I reckon I'll go with the graphics card. The ram will only get cheaper whereas the GPU will only disappear =D

I've never been one for picking up stuff second hand, particularly on Ebay, is hardware from there reliable?

of course it is, there's always MM which is a beter choice. A lot of stuff will also be under Manufacture warranty.

Just because it's 2nd hand doesn't mean it'll suddenly break.

lol I didn't mean that, well I went with the 280 on offer from overclockers, got some spare cash, at the end of the month I'll have enough for the extra 3 Gb. Anyway, thanks for your help guys!
