Second HD5850 or upgrade?!

Would My 5850 and a 6850 work in xfire?

Sorry, Ive only ever had 1 card and Im a complete noob about crossfire etc!

To crossfire they need to be of the same series, so you can only crossfire a 5 series with a 5 series, and a 6 with a 6 etc.

I'm not sure of the performance of the 5850 myself but what is your budget?

I've just bitten the bullet and upgraded myself, gone from a Q9950 with a single 6870 to an i5 2500k with crossfire 6870, should arrive tomorrow hopefully it's good!

Be patient and wait for the 7 series cards to come out would be my advice. Your 5850 is still pretty capable and you never know what sort of price / performance ratio the new cards will offer. Price of 5850s will drop after they are released anyway so you can go for crossfire then if you're unimpressed.
