Ok, so I've got a slight dilemma going on...

I've seen the DGM 27" on offer this week, and this has really tempted me to upgrade my current setup for 3x27" screens.
They seem to be a pretty good price, however after looking though reviews, it seems like they're thought to be quite good (esp for price) but are quite poor in the contrast field & have a mediocre input lag figure.

It would be best if I could just get 3 Dell U2711 monitors, but they're rather more expensive, just for a better contrast ratio.

So, for a question for anyone who's had experience with both monitors (or similar); Is it worth the extra money for the Dell?

I use my PC for pretty much anything it's possible to use it for. Some gaming, TV, Movies, Web browsing, working etc etc.
For the purpose of web browsing & working, I doubt it'll be worth getting the Dell, but for TV & Movies, is the extra contrast ratio of the Dell worth it? I imagine they're both going to be fairly similar with regards to gaming, so again, not really worth it over the Dell.

I also had a thought, maybe I could get a single U2711 for the centre screen, and a pair of the DGM screens for the wings, then I have the better quality screen in the main of my vision & for Movies etc, but I still have 3 27" screens, without so much of the outlay.

So, any comments? I'm also willing to consider other monitors in the place of these (Hazro?) if given enough reasons to, but my requirements are:
2560x1440 resolution (Or higher, but unfortunately there aren't any higher without paying more than I want)
All the same size.
VESA mounts (they will all be mounted on the arms I already have, so how good the included mount is doesn't matter)
Atleast 1 with displayport (a lot easier to connect them, than having to buy an active DP adaptor)
Budget is about £1k for the lot, but there is movement if it gets me something much better.

Doesn't the Dell have a similar input lag?

It may look a bit odd having the matt finish Dell (bezel and anti-glare coating) with the glossy DGM (bezel and screen).

Will the arms you already have support the weight of the DGM, around 7.5Kg?

I'm currently using 3 of the DGM monitors connected to 2 PCs.

One PC with 2 x dual link DVIs and DP and the other with DP and 2 x dual link DVIs.

You can see, in part, where Dell spend the extra money as Dells just feel much better built.

The important part, the screen, is lovely on the DGM though.

Yea, the Dell has a similar input lag (although slightly better)

I was wondering how strange it would look with matt against glossy...

According to the specs, no, the arms only support upto 6kg, however, I currently have a 26" screen, which is about 8.5kg on one of them (Although this did require a slight mod to make it work) But I have been considering replacing my current mounts with ergotron ones, so maybe this would be a good excuse. But that'll add another £300+ to the price.

Have you watched many movies on the DGM yet? How are they? Does the contrast ratio effect it much?
Have you played any games? Any issues with the input lag?

I think I'm leaning more and more towards buying 3 DGM screens, and 3 ergotron mounts to go with them...

Think I've decided what to do...

As I'll need to upgrade my GPU if I wanted to eyefinity 3x27" screens, I've decided it's not worth it.

Instead, I think I'm going to go with a U2711 as a centre screen, with a portrait U2412m either side (similar to my current setup, but bigger & better) I'll probably also buy 3 ergotron mounts for them too.

Unless anyone has any better ideas?
