chris moyles show?

Who actually listens to Radio 1? They're either talking absolute garbage or playing awful songs.

All other radio stations seem to have 2 songs then 20 mins of awful, corny adverts. Winds me up so much hearing the same adverts constantly all day.

Moyles was on Zanes show a few days ago and I dont know if he was joking or not but he said he got fired. Also Zane said something about him getting to know of Grimshaws work very soon and he laughed and said "yeah, not for long" :D. I can see the audience plummeting when he takes over, what an awful choice.

I listen to Radio 1 in the mornings, usually turn it over to Absolute at 10am. Will be a shame to see him with replaced with Nick Grimshaw; he does put on a good show and is good what he does, regardless of his terrible attitude at times. Guess it's time I moved on to another station in the mornings!

In around 95-97 i used to listen to him on the motorway a lot and in those days he was hilarious, but with all things, people move on and times change.

It's this Friday. I got bored of listening to him a while ago and the lack of music that is being played. I want to listen to the radio to hear music with some filler not, people wittering on with music as the filler. I'm going to make an exception this week and listen to him every day as it could be quite interesting and it is the end of an era.

Every other national (and most local) radio shows are the same though. So you don't want to listen to the radio at all tbh.
Moyles didn't set the schedule or say how many songs would be played, he's there to fill the time with talking when they aren't playing songs.

Not sure what station I'll listen to now Moyles is going, guess I'll have to grow up and listen to radio2 :(

Radio 2 is pretty good. Chris Evans is only 8 years older than Moyles, his morning show is normally okay, some new stuff mixed in with some older, not old stuff though really. I'm only in my mid twenties but I'd still take Radio 2 over Radio 1. Radio 1 often does this thing where it reminds me what most of my contemporaries are like when it plays a song by Nikki Minaj or something similarly awful.

Radio 4's The Today Programme is the only radio show I listen to, after that its whatever is on the USB stick.

I didnt like Moyles one bit but it never bothered me that he was on the radio, I just didn't listen to him in exactly the same way that I won't listen to whoever has replaced him.

Happy he's going tbh, I heard from someone that only 5 songs get played per hour with the rest made up of him talking!

Honestly, I'd listen to the radio a lot more if they were more like the TV music channels with just music and no dj whatsoever.

Apparently Grimshaw will play twice as much music as Moyles did.

What type of music though?

to be fair, R1 would never be targetting the same audience as R4's today programme :P

Oh "joy" :o

Personally I only tuned in for the banter. I would have been happy with even less music than Chris Moyles played. I'm still totally gutted he's getting the boot in favour of Grimshaw. I've listened to that show for years on the way to work in the morning. Always brightened up my day.

Sad times :(

I remember years back I used to religiously come home from school and turn on Radio 1 to listen to Moyles. I'm not sure if I've outgrown the show or it's just become **** since it went to the morning slot but I definitely miss how it used to be.

I don't see why people are complaining about the lack of music, it's a breakfast show, tbh I wouldn't mind if they played 2 songs an hour, they always make me laugh, especially with their pub quiz, I will miss it a lot!

5 songs at ~4mins each still equates to 20minutes, so not quite as bad as it sounds, commercial stations probably play the same amount but the adverts just give it the impression they play more.

I'm the opposite. I'v been sick of Moyles' prattle for years now. I usually change to another station when he's doing his usual and talking ********.

Understandable, there would be mass death on the roads as everyone fell asleep if 'Grimmy' tried to speak for more than a few minutes at once, assuming he's even managed to find something other than being friends with Harry Styles to talk about.

I did laugh as I've been downloading the last couple of weeks worth of shows off ChrisMoyles.net and someone has kindly edited out all the music and news and even though the show is 3hrs 30mins most episodes are still 2hrs 40mins long.

Personally I only listen for the talking, if I wanted to hear music I'd stick my iPod on. I won't be listening to Radio 1 after this week, but as Gilly says the BBC are failing to cover the 24-35 demo, so not sure what I'll be listening to.
