I used to have an old Christie LWU505 Projector which has specifically these connections which is faulty

  • BNC x 5 (R,G,B,H,V & Y, Pb/Cb, Pr/Cr & Composite)
My current set up with the LWU505 has primary VGA and HDMI connections, the 5x BNC connections are for a secondary VGA RGB connection in the same room

The secondary VGA connection uses the 5x BNC connections (bnc to HD15 cable) then converted to a DB12 cable (this is hidden from view so I'm not sure what connections are in-between) going into a Gefen VGA auto extender S box which I then have connected a VGA cable

My new Christie LWU502 does not have these BNC connectors so I'm trying to find out if its possible to use this bnc to HD15 cable and connect to HDMI with some sort of connector box or switch

Everything was fine until you got to "DB12" connector. Are you sure about that, or is it a typo? There's a Gefen VGA extender shown on Ebay. The connection is a regular 15 pin D type.

Anyway, yes, it's possible to convert from VGA to DVI or to HDMI. The only thing to watch out for is the timings. Check your Christie manual and make sure that the VGA settings on the laptop are compatible with the pixel count that the DVI socket expects. The actual conversion will be done by an active box (powered) that reformats analogue to digital.

Its converted into an RJ45 socket (the cable just happened to have db12 printed on it) into the Gefen extender

I need to convert from BNC to HDMI though
