Christmas Lunch

I know it is early but M&S and Waitrose have their home entertaining stuff available now.

The wife and I have had a couple of bad runs with Christmas lunch for the two years. One year we had a turkey that had gone off (inside date) so we had "trimmings". Last year we got a 3 bird roast from Aldi that was recommended in the press somewhere that was pretty poor.

Want to make sure this year we have something nice so we are thinking of getting something pre prepared from M&S or Waitrose. Anyone got any ideas? Or can recommend anything similar?

There are only two of us so no point in us getting a whole turkey or a goose. We want something nice that we can get and just stick in the oven. We want to make sure we are not at home to Fr. Cockup this year.

I know how to cook - I just want something this year where nothing will go wrong.

You can't imagine the horror of taking out a turkey crown to cook and finding it stinks to high heaven. No chance of fixing on Christmas Day either.

Do a duck? They roast in no time at all and are difficult to get wrong

Thinking of duck but still want to go for something premade this year.

Go French and buy a Goose. So easy to cook and you will never go dry.

One thing the French know how to do is a Christmas dinner. Sod this Turkey rubbish.
