Hi all,

Still early I know, but this year I wanted to try some meat from elsewhere - in previous years we've tried meats (Turkey & Duck) from the Tesco Finest range, a local butcher, and from Waitrose. Out of them, I've been a big fan of the Waitrose one as the recipe and cooking method has remained the same throughout the years, however our guests over Xmas seem to love the taste/texture/quality of meat.

I wanted to try and expand on it this year and try somewhere else, where do you fine people get your Xmas meats from?

I'd like to find an independent place after seeing some of the quality of other meats people have bought online :D

Thanks.

Peachcroft Farm in Abingdon, Oxfordshire do goose and turkey. I think they do mail order. They do two varieties of turkey one of which has been raved about on various food programmes (memory fails me but may have been bronze turkey).

I've had theres in the past and was good but I can't remember if value for money.

Brill thanks - I've had a quick look and that seems to be great.

A butchers down the road, they do really high end meat, award winning sausages and pies and a few other bits.

I couldn't imagine going to the supermarket if you could afford not to, the Christmas meal should be decadence and fine ingredients.

Exactly how I feel about it, the other 364 days can be filled with Asda smart price chicken for all I care, but Christmas dinner has to be packed with butter, lard, goose fat, and pretty much all the other bad but delicious things :p
