I know it's a little early and it's not going up just yet but.. I wanted to get opinions.

Do people prefer warm lights or multi colored lights on their tree.

Also real or fake?

I like real trees but they a pain in the arse to put up and keep alive.

We got a real tree on one year and it was full of bloody worms!

As for lights I don't care the more the merrier I say, I don't like flashing lights on a tree that does my nut in.

lol yes we've had a real tree for a few years running now. they're not too bad if you get the ones that "don't drop the needles" it still drops needles just not as many.
Thinking of sticking with the fake one this year less hassle and save some money.

Well obviously I'm in a place where Christmas is just another day :p But even growing up in the UK, we rarely bothered with a tree. There's absolutely no reason for it - does having a tree inside make you happy? Then buy one in May and keep it in your living room. It's a nonsense tradition that serves no purpose at all.

That said, I do like lights. I used to have my bedroom illuminated largely by touch lamps and UV lights illuminating balls I'd painted different colours. But that was year round, not just "It's Christmas so I must have some lights!"

I don't think of it as a curmudgeonly attitude, I'd just rather people thought about lights, plants and atmosphere year round, rather than just having to do it for Christmas.

You know what.. Yes it does make me happy but it's not something I would want all year round.
I don't think it's a nonsense tradition, to me it just has a certain nostalgia about it that makes decorating for this certain time of year special.

I always found something majestic about having lit candle on the end of branches on old xmas cards.

But for the life of me I have yet to see anyone use real candles on a Christmas tree. :D

Yeah screw that. lol "Someone call the Fire Brigade!"
