Firstly, it's nice to be here on the forums :) This is my first post.

Ok My cuurent setup is in my signature, for xmas I plan on upgrading a fair bit; hopefully motherboard (definately), cpu (definately) and RAM (most likely).

I currently run an Asrock AGP motherboard with the graphics card in my sig, although I have an ATI Radeon X1600 Pro card spare (unused) that I will use.

My budget is around £300-400 (closer to 400) and for that I really want to spice the machine up :).

I was looking at the bundles on the site, the cheapest Intel Core2duo @ £337 looked pretty good to me. Would this be the best option or could someone spec me a different upgrade :).

If you need to know my PSU, it is a 400W paxpower one.

The main use for my PC is games (Counterstrike, WoW etc.. so not very demanding).

Thanks for your time if you help me.

1st of all review sig, you can only have 4 maximum lines (read the faq http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/faq.php? )
(quickly update your sig before any of the mods see it ;) )

Welcome to the forums by the way... :p

Akasa paxpower should be enough, provided you dont get a x1800 or x1900 ati card...

Get a 2gb ddr-2 kit pc6400 (or 1 gig)
a intel core 2 duo e6300
and a gigabyte ds3 or a asus p5b mainboard ( not asrock, they are ok but suck for ocing...)

Intel Core 2 DUO LGA775 E6300 1.86GHz Retail / Gigabyte 965P DS3 / 1GB GeIL PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Kit - Bundle £286.97
(£337.19) £286.97
(£337.19)

Then sell your old parts and get a geforce 7900gs or a 7600gt from rest of the money...

Will run any current game maxed...

OR if you (really) want 2 gigs of ram, leave the gfx card and get 2 gigabyte kit instead of 1 gig, however i recommend upgrading gfx card, as your's is really well err slow... (although a x1600 might run most on medium and some on high)

Anyhow your psu should be enough, however im not sure, please fill in your specs here to check your power usage: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp

So you do recommend that bundle I said? Seemed pretty good value to me.

I have never overclocked before so I don't know what is best to buy or how to do it, but i'd like to give it a go.

P.S. I removed the rig from my sig and will make a pic :).
