Ah, figured it out.

Just add --disk-cache-dir="New Directory" to the end of Chrome.exe's target.

If you use the Internet quite often, then your browser will be writing lots of data to your SSD. The more writes you make to your SSD, the quicker it will die.

It's just a safety precaution, but for the vast majority of people they will have upgraded by the time their drive fails.
