Does anybody know if you can get rid of the arrow that floats across the screen when swiping backwards and forwards between pages on Chrome ( OS X Lion )

I find it really annoying!!

I prefer it. Before, I'd struggle to tell if I'd done the gesture correctly (and would do it again and jump back 2 pages) :p

It's the reason I've stopped using Chrome and have stuck with Safari. Well, since Lion at least. I'm not sure if the API is there for third-party apps to use the swiping animations used in Safari and Apple's other updated apps as it's just so much more intuitive.
