Anybody had the issue where Chrome becomes corrupted and a reinstall, both off line and online refuses to load? What was actually happening was the option to reinstall kept disappearing behind another message so I couldn't read it. I checked all the usual such as antivirus and S mode limitations- none of which were affecting the download. The only way I could reinstall it was to go back to a previous restore point, and then use the off-line installer to go over the current copy. If I deleted the current copy then a new reinstall wouldn't load. Does anybody know of any other way to deal with this, should it happen again?

Hmm, not sure if there is a chance it could be something to do with your windows user/profile affecting Chrome.

What version Windows are you running? Able to create a new local user and then try the install under a temp user?

You could try "Chrome for Enterprise" which is a machine wide installation instead of regular Chrome which installs in a user profile.

All user profiles were set to full control including system, so I don't know?

Another method to install could be "winget", afraid it's' not something i've tried myself. But looks simple enough, I think "winget install Google.Chrome" should work.

Another option would be to try and look at https://chocolatey.org/ or maybe another app which would allow you to install it another way.
