Chrome slow

When viewing the animated images pages in general discussion chrome seems to be struggling a little.

if I look at my download speed its choking at around 4meg , however when I view the same page in firefox its hitting 75 meg and the page loads very quick.

Any solution to this or is it a case of back to firefox ?

Installed any new extensions or such?

Failing that, uninstall and re-install Chrome maybe? - Quick enough job.
