Hi all,
Can someone recommend a product that helps restore chrome trims on my pug black 3008 SUV GT (2017).
I would imagine there is a mix of chrome (metal) and chrome coated plastic(?)
Whenever I clean the car, regular cleaning products don’t seem to restore the chrome and as the car is black and a GT it has quite a few chrome accents on it.

So, advice appreciated

I've used meguiar 83 on a DAP for metal polishing ... if you have a dremel with a buffing pad that could work to provide a bit more oomph on intricate areas
maybe put some ceramic or other coating on it once done, to give it ongoing protection against oxydation.

Depends what the material is.

Could try some rapid detailer with some clay or polish. If metal AG metal polish is relatively gentle. Autosol is your best bet, it’s much more effective. If plastic you could remove the chrome quickly, if metal it’ll be more resilient, but not bullet proof. Chrome plated plastic could quickly lose its costing whatever you do.

I would be shocked if there were actual metal chrome on a 3008. I would be very careful with plastic chrome trim, you can damage it quite easily. Have you got any pictures of the condition of it?

Yeah - was a EV-R customised pickup for sale at the dealer I use quite a bit where the custom plastic chrome trim looked really naff after someone had gone at it with polishing and it was all flaked showing the surface underneath. Also looked like they'd also rattle canned some chrome bits mat black when it was originally done and looked like it was peeling off from being pressure washed which I'd have been rather annoyed at given the cost of having it customised.
