Hi guys

I'm currently using Firefox as my main web browser but i've seen that a lot of people are now using Chrome.

Is Chrome better??

Any advantages/disadvantages of using Chrome over FF??

Thanks

Chris

Better security, baked in Flash plugin (easier updates) in Chrome & is quick. Firefox is all about extensions though, it really depends what you want in a browser.

I prefer chrome, quicker. Also you can use the 'address bar' as the google search bar as well so its just neater :)
Also it doesn't use up silly amounts of memory.

I use chrome too and love it. Cannot stand any other browser - they all seem, slow and bulky compared to chrome. :D

Don't see why anyone even sticks to just one browser now, it's not like they take up much space and it's always useful to have more than one just in the case whereby a site doesn't render correctly in one browser.

love chrome as its so fast, only complaints are the lack of a custom search bar for say ebay (though i'm sure i could add one) and on some sites the middle click doesnt open links in new tabs

Haven't found a decent mouse gestures addon for Chrome yet. As soon as it gets one I'll make the switch, but until then Firefox with mouse gestures will always be the fastest way of browsing for me.
(However, if anyone knows of a good mouse gesture extension for Chrome, let me know!)

I use this one and find it good, although its the first mouse stroke/gesture I've used so it could be poor compared to the ff one.

Anyone got links for the Firefox equivalent in Chrome..

Adblock plus
Gmail notifier

Also, is it possible to turn the search / url bar into a "i'm feeling lucky" search?

ie, if you typed in 'ocuk forums' it would come straight to this page because it's the first search result, instead of displaying the search results?
edit, I've done that..

Create a new search and use this as the code..

http://www.google.co.uk/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=%s

I'd love to know this too, if Foxmarks (or Xmarks or whatever it's now called), Gmail Notifier and Adblock plus worked with Chrome, I'd give up on Firefox as it's feeling more clunkier by the day.

I have my gmail set as an application shortcut and I've put that in my dock, so it acts basically like another program, its wonderful I tell ye.

Firefox is beginning to annoy me. I've been a firefox user for about 6 years and generally hated IE although have had to use it for legacy app support at work and when a page is only written for IE (very rare I find). However, firefox as said is a resource hog and although I massively prefer it to IE, I'm going to have to give chrome a try since I had a quick demo of it the other day and it does seem very fast, which is the main priority for me in a browser. Firefox tends to crash on me more these days and updates are buggy and not tested properly. I do use some extensions but could probably convert to chrome easily enough.
Most recent thing that firefox has done to me is profile corruption twice in the last couple of months and now I have a bizarre issue where by on forums I am randomly getting display problems with a double line thing....see below:

EDIT: Interesting, it's only OCUK forums that does this for me in firefox. Hmm
