Hi, my other half has just bought a chromebook. We didn't really do any research before buying it, just went ahead and got it. It is an Acer C720. Everything seems fine and runs well.

She has tried downloading some apps, but most of them aren't supported. I have been googling and found that games cant be downloaded from the store, but you are able to play games that are on web browsers. I have tried to go on battlefield and counterstrike F2P sites, but they wont work.

Is it able to use apps/play games at all? and how? Thanks.

What sort of apps? It's called a Chromebook, everything is done in Chrome, the operating system is the browser and the browser is the operating system, the title kind of gives it away.
I have that exact same Chromebook and I'm afraid to say that if gaming was your priority then you bought the wrong machine.

Chromebooks are about being a quick, simple and functional notebook that simply acts as an interface between you and the internet that also ties in with Google's range of products perfectly.
KIA has linked to the repository and there some apps in there but a lot of them are simply shortcuts to websites added to your browser. There are a few native apps that run in the browser but not nearly enough.
