chromecast and other screen mirroring wifi things

Hi,

Anyone tried them? I know chromecast is quite limited at the minute butvanyone know if these are any good for streaming full hd files etc?

I'm looking at viewing what's on my media pc down stairs on the tv in the bedroom. I was going to get a wd tv live but these would work better maybe?

hi there , as standard the chromecast will not stream content which is on your pc.......well they will play mp4 files if used in a chrome window...

the main purpose of the chrome cast is so you can view the likes of you tube and netflix on your tv and basicly use your pc/iphone or android as a remote......

so you have to first select what you want to play on your device then select cast to play it on the chromecast. i would say the chromecast just turns your tv into a smart tv. The chromecast also has to be coonected to your wifi network to work..

most screen mirroring dongles are for mobile phone use......so u can mirror your phone directly onto the screen.

if yo want to stream from the pc to a device in another room then the wdtv live does the job.....or even a xbox 360 or ps3
