Just wondering if anyone else has tried one of these?

I picked one up yesterday and it's brilliant, I have a decent hi-fi setup but like most people now I'm using spotify and was plugging my phone is everytime to the amp.

I looked at a few different solutions but I knew I wanted a wifi solution not Bluetooth.

In typical Google fashion the chromecast is incredibly easy to setup and once setup any device on the network can cast to it, either via an app like spotify or it'll even let you mirror all the audio that's coming from your phone.

Also they now support multi room so you can buy extra ones for other systems and sync them like sonos.

All this for £30! To my ears it sounds pretty good too.

I have two - one in the AVR and another plugged into a good Bluetooth speaker in my bedroom (which was previously underused, cuz Bluetooth sucks). Hard to see how it could be better at what it does.

The combo of a Google Play Music subscription and Chromecast is brilliant. I never got on with Spotify. Hate the colour scheme, hated the offline support (99% of my music listening when out-and-about is done on the tube, so no signal). Very keen to get another speaker for upstairs in our flat, and maybe a Google Home downstairs too :D

I do occasionally have issues where GPM just won't play a track I want it to, and sometimes it loses connection so when you look at your phone it's not displaying what is actually playing. But I lived at my Dad's with a full Sonos setup for a year and the same things happened. And that was 10x the price.
