Hi all,
It's that time of year again and i have refreshed all my LAN pc's :)
The minimum spec is now:
P4 3.2Ghz
2Gb RAM
ATI 2400 pro
80Gb disks

So it's time to choose a refreshed gamelist, the lan will have about 12 people

Last LAN playlist:
- CS Source
- DOD Source
- COD 4
- UT 99
- COD 5 (World at war)
- Starcraft
- TF2 <- was a bit of a failure as not many people liked it
- CNC3 <- again didnt really take off
- Left 4 Dead <- didnt support enough players

I was thinking:

- CS Source, this one is well established for a few rounds now
- DOD Source, was the most played last lan
- Unreal Tournament 99 (this one always gets a few rounds on team capture the flag with fat mode, instant gib modifiers on)
- Modern Warfare 2 (COD4 last lan, so just a refresh)
- Bad Company 2
- AVP3
- Starcraft (we play tournament style knockout)

Possibly adding something like Dirt or NFS into the mix, maybe go with something a bit different like Trackmania or FlatOut
I would prefer something with weapons so people can blow each other up as that would be much more fun (like carmageddon) so your recommends would be really helpful

Another thing that would be really helpful is if there was some way of tracking scores across games (wins losses kills etc) particularly for the FPS's, not too bothered about the others

Thanks all

ATi what? 4650? 4670? 4850?

Good call on UT99, many of the same people who like that may also appreciate CS 1.6.

If you're into some retro strategy try getting people into Total Annihilation. Most fun i ever had with lan gaming was with that :p is good for serious and non serious people who just want to see stuff blow up. Or even C&C Red alert 2? Many people say that this (or tiberian sun) was the best of the series..

lol i just noticed i didn't type anything, i have put in a 2400 pro for the moment but the guy who owns it promised an upgrade

Around a 1800XTX i believe is the slowest (ironically the rest are new cards but have to cater for the lowest common denominator)

Nice spot with total annihalation, i had some great lans on that too
They arent really a strategy crowd but starcraft seemed to get their fancy for some reason
