Chronicles Of Riddick Really Bad Lag

So I re-downloaded COR through Steam, Launch the game and wow the lag is amazing, The menus, Pause screens, Cut scenes are around 5 fps at best but the main game play is a smooth 60 fps, Even tried it on other rigs and it's the same story.

I've tried looking around and no one seems to know whats going on, I've trawled Google and come up with nothing.

Anyone by chance seen this before ?

*EDIT*

After much fiddling around I figured it out, In the Nvidia control panel you need to turn off "Threaded optimisation" and the games frame rate shoots up.

I tested this a few times just to make sure and "Threaded Optimisation" is the culprit.

If it's low FPS, it isn't lag. Which is why Google probably hasn't returned anything useful.

Well I've already tried low fps in the search but come back with diddly squat

Tried compatibility mode? Also, maybe doesn't like 64 bit OS. Is it the original game?

Yep tried compatibility, Could be the 64 bit OS and yeah it's the COR pack from Steam which includes butcher bay and dark athena.

An issue with the Steam version maybe? I have the GOG version and it runs perfectly fine on Win7-64bit.

Seems likely as it was removed from the Steam store for some odd reason :confused:

I know the answer to this because I had the same thing a few years ago.

Steam doesn't include the latest patch. You have to manually download it and it will solve the issue

I didn't have sound issues afterwards so can no longer be of service. Hope you get it sorted!

Pretty sure just turning of vsync fixes the menu lag anyway.
