Chronicles Riddick: Dark Athena DRM questions

Was just checking what DRM this game used before buying, and it has a 3 install limit with no revoke tool still in operation.

So has anyone had to contact Atari about getting their limit reset? If so, can it be done by email or is it premium rate phone number (not found it on Atari website)?

If I bought the game second hand, would that still be eligible? And what proof do they want apart from stuff in the game DVD case?

buy it on steam tbh, unless it's super cheap. It's currently £15 on steam, well worth it for the two games imo.

Going by a forum post on Atari it seems the Steam version has the same DRM. And getting any of the three parties involved to sort it out turns into a case of pass the buck.

Edit: Just having quick look on Steam forum it seems you get an activation, or all 3, back after using the last one. But only after a 30 day timer has passed. As I'm not a fan of digital versions though, I'll look for a cheaper retail version.
