Hiya

i am writing this from the depths of safe mode, becasue its the only place i can get :(

I installed the chuck patch then restarted and when i came back into windows i could just see a small portion of my desktop and could only right click no help at all. So i loaded into safe mode and uninstalled all my ATI drivers (using 6.3 with control panel not CCC <<could be the issue perhaps) and then rebooted and installed the new same drivers again. but now my screen is completely black in windows. how can i uninstall the Chuck patch basically?? or would it work with 6.4's or proper 6.3's??

thanks in advance

so theres noway to uninstall the chuck patch? i tryed 6.4's and it made it worse now my monitor just blinks into power save mode when windows loads.

get driver cleaner pro (free download) boot into safe mode and run it, set it to clean all ATI stuff.

Install the 6.3s with CCC - tbh i didnt think there was a control panel for ATI drivers just CCC - install chuck patch.

The chuck patch doesnt work with the 6.4s (or at least i couldnt get it to work)

i have run driver cleaner many times already, it makes no difference.

unistall drivers > safemode > driver cleaner > restart > install new drivers (tryed 6.3 + 6.4) > restart > Still not working

when i installed Chuck patch it said it had to overwrite 2 files, is that normal? Driver cleaner pro didn't seem to clean the chuck, i even tryed a system roll back and then installed ATI drivers and the problem occurs again.

Starting to get withdrawal symtoms from not being able to get my CSS and oblivion fix

The only thing I can suggest is to search for all the files that are contained within the chuck patch, and delete them manually after running driver cleaner.

Coudl also try reinstalling your motherboard drivers, just in case your AGP/PCI-E driver has corrupted.

here are the files that are contained in the chuck patch.

Works fine with Catalyst 6.4, I am using it right now. ;)

Me to, there is a normal Control Panel set, just download the FireGL drivers, as they are just the CATS's but with the normal Control Panel instead of the CCC, or just download the drivers and use ATi Tray Tools. :)

I was using the 6.3's with the CP instead of the CCC (not too fond of it) when i installed the Chuck, then he round housed my computer :(

right i got fed up and re-installed my OS from a Nero ghost image, and then installed the latest drivers. BUT!! i rebooted and the same thing happens!! argh

must be a hardware fault :(
