Bit of a shock, honestly thought he had passed years ago.

Let's be honest, he's exceptionally lucky to reach that age with everything he did. WWII and Vietnam combat pilot, many years as a test pilot.

Indeed. He survived a lot of entertaining opportunities for death over his career.

RIP Brigadier General Charles Elwood Yeager.
 
Apparently the reason they had so much trouble breaking the speed of sound was due to the induced drag of his huge balls of steel

RIP a legend. 97 is an achievement having fully lived life and stared death in the face numerous times.

Spent many an hour playing Chuck Yeager's Air Combat on my 486 back in the day...
