Chuck Yeagers Air Combat

Alas there are no flight sims around that make want to play flying :( I've tried them all except the microsoft combat ones as they are just flange. Play IL2 for years but its stale and lifeless. Hmmm, gloomy post. Apologies.

Yes! I remember 'graduating' to this from SWOTL, great game and nothing's really done it for me since flight sim wise. Me and my mate used to spend hours playing in his attic, I think he's even got the disks stills, I know I've got my SWOTL ones :D
 
Lol ive still got the original Floppy Disk with the game on - ill try and get it playing later i think. The funniest thing is when you load the game, it uses the computers speaker to do voice!!! it says 'welcome to Chuck Yeagers Air Combat' and sounds like something from an 80's robot. Anyone remember the defecting missions when you fly a mig and defect to the AMericans whilst being chased by the Koreans? simply epic.
 
Great game :D I sometimes think flight sims were more fun when they were still a developing genre. There was soooooo much potential back when Gunship and F15 strike eagle were the pinnacle :D
 
One of my favourite flight sim games.

I really liked being able to choose planes from different historical eras, e.g. WW2, Cold War, etc.
 
I used to love SWOTL - but I enjoyed Chuck's too. Great sims of their time. I haven't played IL2 in years, but then I don't have a joystick. There are a few sims on the horizon that look special.
 
Dano: Both mate. I flew with a squadron for a bit but it was a bit too time consuming. Offline I got fed up with the rubbish AI, wingmen that were just random :D and stale and boring campaigns. I did download a couple of user made campaigns and those were good but it just left me feeling a bit neutral. I'm kind of following storm of wars development but undecided about its direction.
 
How about spectrum holobyte's falcon? i bought an amiga just to play that game :D Makes me smile to think how much time i invested in that game
