So I've got a ChyangFun eCube CF-S768 sitting here and it's happily plodding away... but the PSU is soooo damn loud! I've tried looking for a quieter replacement but have had no luck :(

Just wondering if you guys know of any quiet PSU's that would fit... maybe a Shuttle one? I can measure dimensions and stuff if need be!

Cheers :)

Depending on what you have inside it, you might be able to do away with the PSU completely and use one of the mini-ITX external PSU's. I have successfully used a 130W one on a Biostar 200V with an Athlon XP 2600, 1Gb RAM, 2 HDD, an optical drive, card reader and a Radeon 9800XT without any problems at all. And it was silent! (not that the original Biostar PSU was noisy, it just blew up)

Wow cool all that on only a 130W PSU  nice! The spec is average... XP2400+ (T'bred B), 512MB HyperX, PCI WiFi card, 20Gb HDD an optical and a floppy.

What was the exact model you used... and how exactly does it work? Pics would be cool, as I'm interested to see how it links up and what you did with the huge hole left in the back!

Cheers,

Suman

Can't mention where I got it, and it's been superceded by a 150W model anyway, but google "150W PSU DC-DC Converter Kit". It has pictures and mine came with a plate with a hole drilled in it for the cable to go through.

It should easily handle what you want.
