CIA interview with Bin Ladin just after 9/11

This is apparently part of a communication between Bin Ladin and a CIA operative, leaked to Wikileaks and decoded via there "insurance" file.

What do you think? If its real, does it prove the CIA knew where he was all along?

I'm probably calling a fake, but its Wikileaks and generally they are on the money.
 
The FBI and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), as well as other U.S. governmental agencies, have used either "Usama bin Laden" or "Usama bin Ladin". Less common renderings include "Ussamah bin Ladin" and, in the French-language media, "Oussama ben Laden". Other spellings include "Binladen" or, as used by his family in the West, "Binladin".

Fact that it is 'Ladin' probably makes it more legitimate rather than less so, imo.

the spelling of his name was what made you question the file???.... :confused: not the massive implausibility that the US forces conducted a huge man hunt for him while the CIA seemingly knew where he was all along?

In case you hadn't noticed he's not western and comes from a region that doesn't share our alphabet. His name is spelled in Arabic using those squiggly letters they use over in the middle east....

How we spell it using a Latin Alphabet is just however it sounds.

People who read newspapers might also have noticed that Gaddafi, Qaddafi and Kadafi were used to refer to the former Libyan dictator.

At the start he denied it. That's public knowledge . By the time he admitted it he was long gone .
 
Isn't it fairly widely known that he initially denied it?

If it wasn't him, why would he know for sure who it was any more than anyone else would?
