Anyone made their own cider before? Have you got your own press? How easy is it to do?

Seems like a fun little hobby...

I remember at school, in the 70's, my teacher asked us what we knew about cider. I told her that it's good if you stab your self with a needle. My teacher asked what I was on about and I told her I'd heard my sister say to her friend that every time she got a ***** in her hand she had to put it in cider.

Yeah, I've made cider before. Haven't got my own press, I just smashed the living crap out of apples, blended, and then strained in muslin cloth.

Cider is one of the easier things to brew yourself (where the result is still drinkable) - to get something really nice takes more practice.
